The opening scene of Ride to Hell: Retribution sets the tone for the rest of the game - Jake riding his motorcycle with a scowl on his face. It's an unimpressive start, but I gave the game another chance before realizing it was a waste of time.

As soon as the game booted up, I found myself in a confusing turret tutorial that left me bewildered. The controls were clunky, and I struggled to aim and shoot quickly, which prompted me to fail the mission. This was just the beginning of my frustration with Ride to Hell: Retribution.

The story follows Jake Conway, a Vietnam veteran who returns home to his disgruntled Uncle Mack and 'tall sack of shit' brother, Mikey. When Mikey is brutally murdered by a rival biker gang, Jack sets out on a journey to pick off each member of The Devil's Hand until his brother's death is avenged.

Unfortunately, the game fails to deliver an entertaining experience. The fighting mechanic is subpar, and the game is riddled with glitches that left me stuck in platforms and unable to progress. Even the story, which had potential, falls flat due to poor writing.

Ride to Hell: Retribution is a worthy title because it's clear that this game came from hell itself. I'm amazed at how it fails to entertain, and I would not recommend downloading Ride to Hell: Retribution for free or otherwise. Instead, I suggest looking elsewhere for a gaming experience that won't leave you feeling frustrated and disappointed.
